It takes a lot of work to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner for your friends. And when you plan a Thanksgiving dinner, you must always plan to purchase a turkey, right? One problem: how?

Tony arranged for us to visit a turkey farm in Shenzhou (around 1 hour away by car) after we finished teaching today, and the six of us hopped on a bus without knowing how we were going to get back to SX.

One 30-minute taxi ride later, with the driver yelling at us in Chinese and seven people (including the driver) crammed into a taxi, we arrived at the farm to butcher our turkey, coined “Dababa,” or, “Big Daddy.” It was quite a bit less dramatic than last year’s killing, which you can view here.

We got back to ShaoXing around midnight after a meal with a Chinese friend and an extremely gracious offer to drive us an hour back home. Our back-up plan was to sleep in a K-TV.

After our long evening of turkey killing, we had a great pizza dinner with a friend and got a ride back to ShaoXing.
