Every day, rain or shine, you will find the streets in China filled with workers. Some of them sell street food. Others transport textiles to Kequiao (pronounced “K-uht-chow”). But some of them are laborers who work to keep streets free of leaves, take the trash away, and plant grass by hand. They are up before everyone and work tirelessly. And yet, I would guess that they are some of the poorest people in China.
