And It was Good.

The houses in Wales are very square and compact, yet I really like them. In the two houses I’ve been in, the entrances are narrow foyers that lead directly to the upstairs bedrooms. There is generally a door off to one side that  leads into the living room and kitchen. It is cozy, and Sundays are spent eating lunch (aka “dinner”), having tea, talking together, and sometimes playing music.

Four things I’ve learned about Wales:

  1. You have to buy a T.V. license to watch T.V. legally.
  2. Washing machines are generally kept in the kitchen (and sometimes, but not always, a dryer). The washing machine above is on the far left side of the picture toward the bottom. And yes, it’s a washing machine, not a dishwasher.
  3. The Welsh are very generous, are excellent cooks, do not like “dry” food, drink a fair amount of sparkling water, and always have great desserts. (Was that cheating to put five in one?)
  4. Fernando Ortega and Casting Crowns are well-loved.

“For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” ~Matthew 18:20
